Biography

Gianluca Corona was born in Milan in 1969.
In 1991 he graduates from the local Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera.
From ‘94 to ’96 he trains as an apprentice in the studio of Mario Donizetti in Bergamo.
He then starts his professional career, establishing himself on the artistic scene as a leading figure of the young Italian representational art movement.
His work offers a contemporary rereading of the still life and portrait genres, inspired by the great masters of the XVI and XVII centuries. Special attention is devoted to using traditional materials and techniques.
He has held several exhibitions in Italy and abroad and his works are present in public and private collections.
He lives and works in Milan.
